Lower Dolpo trek is a less known trek route of Nepal compared to other trekking routes. But the adventure and thrills of walking on the off-beaten road are quite extreme in this trek. Lower Dolpo trek routes were opened for foreigners in the year of 1982.The 18-day Lower Dolpo Trek begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Juphal via Nepalgunj. Juphal is the starting point for this trek. The majority of people living in this area belong to the Chettri Community. Other communities found here are Gurung, Sherpa, and Magar. Most of the people here are the followers of Hindu and Buddhist religions.
Lower Dolpo trek routes are also known as the hidden treasure of Nepal. You will be traveling through remote villages, ancient monasteries, wildlife, and many more.
Furthermore, this is also one of the few areas where the pre-Buddhist Bon Po religion is still practiced. While on the trek, we get to muse at the yak caravans that maintain the traditional salt trade with Tibet. Lower Dolpo trekking also passes through ancient villages like Do-Tarap with traditional Tibetan stone house clusters, local fields surrounded by beautiful monasteries, and high passes like Numa-La (5,290M) and Baga-La (5,175M) which add up to some adventures in this trek.

Crossing the city to the hotel already offers a first discovery of the bustling and colorful capital of Nepal. Buses, trucks, bicycles and sacred cows crisscross in a friendly chaos... Depending on the arrival time, visit the surrounding area or simply settle in and rest at the hotel before your dinner at the hotel.
