The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a great Tea-House Trek and often called as the best all-round trek in Nepal. The trek takes you around the Manaslu Conservation Area and leads to a breathtaking view of the eighth highest mountain in the world, Mt. Manaslu.
Unlike Everest Base Camp Trek and Annapurna Circuit trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek is less crowded but it is equally beautiful. It is remote and physically demanding yet culturally enriching and scenically uplifting.
“The Manaslu Circuit Trek features everything you’d want from a classic trek in Nepal: Epic scenery, intimate encounters with local people and their ancient culture and a 5100m (17,000-ft.) Himalayan pass crossing.”
Tsum Valley Trek, a hidden gem nestled in the Himalayas. This extraordinary journey takes you through remote Tibetan villages, offering a glimpse into their unique culture and traditions. We pass through stunning landscapes, from lush forests to rugged terrains, while visiting ancient monasteries that add depth to your experience. You'll return with unforgettable memories, a deeper connection to nature, and a newfound appreciation for the rich cultural tapestry of the Tsum Valley. The valley provides outstanding views of several mountains, including Ganesh Himal, Shringi Himal, and Boudha Himal.
The treks to the Tsum Valley were restricted as recently as 2008. The villagers are highly spiritual evident from the several monasteries located here. The Rachen and Mu Gompas are the most prominent monasteries in this valley. This region is also rich in biodiversity, and the forests, rivers, and caves make this valley worth visiting.

Manaslu is also known as Kutang) is the eighth highest mountain in the world, and is located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas, in the west-central part of Nepal. Its name, which means “Mountain of the Spirit”, comes from the Sanskrit word Manasa, meaning “intellect” or “soul”.
The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a remote region trek that takes you to the foothills of the Himalayas. The trails of this stunning journey are pretty challenging. The difficulty increases significantly as untraversed, off-the-beaten landscapes along the route
How do I train to Manaslu Circuit Trek? You will be walking with your gear the whole trail. So, you must train your body by doing strength endurance training, elevation training, and aerobic conditioning. Strength endurance training is doing more repetitions with less weight than strength training.
Nepal Government restricts solo trekking of the Manaslu Trek without a guide or porter. The trails of the Manaslu region are off the beaten path. Hence, you will need a guide to help you navigate the routes. Trekkers will likely get lost or injured along these trails.
A Restricted Trek to Manaslu Region - Manaslu Circuit Trek Cost
The Nepalese government has placed certain restrictions on trekking in the area to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the region. The Manaslu Conservation Area is a protected area and the government has implemented a system of special permits and regulations for the trek.
About 177 kilometers
The Manaslu Circuit trek begins from Arughat of the Gorkha district. The final point of the trek is Besisahar, the starting point of another most popular Annapurna Circuit trek. The total distance cover during the trek is about 177 kilometers.
Among these, 17 species (6.15%) of climbers, 178 species (64.49%) of herbs, 58 species (21.01%) of shrubs and 23 species (8.33%) of trees are found.
Yes, it is safe. Let's look at the logical and paramount reasons that make the Manaslu Circuit trek a safe adventure. It is mandatory for a trekker or a group to hire a certified guide to embark on the Manaslu Circuit trek. Trekking with guides and porters can provide an extra level of safety.
Overall, the pass on the Manaslu Circuit, Larkya La (5106m), is more challenging than the pass on the Annapurna Circuit, Thorong La (5416m). There are a few reasons that contribute to the Manaslu Pass being more challenging. In the two days leading up to Larkya La, there is a large jump in altitude.
