(End of the trip)
The ideal time for the Mardi Himal Base Camp Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. These months offer stable weather, clear skies, and moderate temperatures, making for a more enjoyable and safe trekking experience.
The trek is considered moderately challenging. Trekkers should have a good fitness level and be prepared for uphill and downhill hiking.
The trek typically takes around 7 to 10 days, depending on the chosen itinerary and the pace of the trekker. Some opt for shorter or longer routes so that the duration can vary.
You will need two permits: The Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and the Trekker's Information Management System (TIMS) card. Regarding Mardi Himal Trekking permits cost, for ACAP permits, it cost NPR 3000 (USD 25) and for TIMS Permit, it cost NPR 2000(USD 15). But for the SAARC countries, the cost is different. It costs NPR 1000 (USD 7) for an ACAP permit and NPR 1000 for TIMS card.
While the maximum elevation at Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) is relatively lower than some other treks, altitude sickness can still be a concern. Acclimatizing appropriately, staying hydrated, and being aware of symptoms is crucial. If symptoms worsen, it's critical to descend to lower altitudes.
